Smile is an ancient saying
Money does not buy happiness, says popular wisdom. Perhaps, not even serenity. What is certain is that we, the inhabitants of affluent societies, tend to see others on the basis of our values, and to idealize them, for good as well as for evil. Human rights are a great and unrenounceable achievement, and so it should be for the other half of the sky. But where women do not have all those we believe should be their rights, is perhaps a smile? No, as shown by Indian women portrayed in these photographs.
